Hypnosis is an ancient practice to provide temporary pain relief and cure to some health threatening habits. It also brings confidence and builds character in some people. Hypnosis is the practice of inducing a though to your subconscious mind in order for you to accept it as your own and follow its lead, such as quitting to smoke gradually or falling asleep.

Stress is something we all deal with at one time or the other, whether it is the pressure of exams in schools or the mortgage payments. Stress can in turn lead a number of health problems from sleepless night to appetite change and even depression, due to which reason you must take immediate measure to deal and treat it.

Stress Relief Through Laughter

Laughter is the best medicine, you must have heard this a few times and you can get stress relief through it and your life can go back to normal. However, none of us can laugh or be happy on order but we can through comedy hypnosis. Because hypnosis works with your subconscious mind it can induce laughter and a state of well being through comedy hypnosis by making you believe that you are someone that makes you happy for example, a cartoon character or a supernatural hero.

Many people asked the hypnotist to record them during the comedy hypnosis session because they did not believe that they truly acted and were impersonating another character, as it will all seem like a dream to them. The tapes prove, however, that they truly achieved the results desired in the comedy hypnosis when the hypnotist asks them to do something typical of the character they are impersonating.

Laugh at Your Stress Twice

If you are thinking of getting comedy hypnosis, you should tape yourself and then watch it at home when you are feeling low for an instant moment of uplifting and laughter. Sometimes the mind can take you back to the same feeling of well being that you experienced while the comedy hypnosis was performed only by watching the tape. You will be able to also find in the stores other comedy hypnosis DVDs of people who have been through the therapy as well and clearly achieved desired results.

Helpful Tip

Make laughter part of your everyday life to ensure that you relieve stress whether you achieve it through comedy hypnosis or through comedy hypnosis tapes. You will soon find that laughter is indeed the best medicine and it will always help you stay healthy as well as deal with any problem as it comes.

Learn Hypnosis

Filed Under (Hypnosis, Hypnotism General, Hypnotism How To, Hypnotist, Learn Hypnosis) by Dane on 15-03-2007

When you think of hypnosis, it seems easy enough. You dangle a charm in front of someone’s eyes and speak softly, telling them they’re getting sleepy and, pretty soon, they’re under and you have free reign over their subconscious. You can make them bark like a dog, cluck like a chicken or you can even make them get up and dance ballet. However, hypnosis is a lot more complicated than that. It takes a professional to put someone in a truly hypnotized state. Hypnosis should only be handled by a professional, too, because a hypnotist has a lot of power over a hypnotized person. A hypnotist could potentially abuse that power and, for this reason, the power should be handled only by an ethical professional. If you’re going to learn hypnosis, make sure you keep this in mind every time you put someone in a relaxed state. You should use hypnosis to help people, not to harm them.

Hypnosis Schools

To learn hypnosis, you have several options. The best, of course, is to attend a hypnosis school. A hypnosis school allows you to learn the ropes of hypnosis in an academic setting. You will participate in examples and you will witness actual hypnosis sessions. This allows you to overcome any issues you may have as well as the benefit of watching experienced hypnotists in action. By the time you graduate, you will be a certified hypnotist, having learned hypnosis from the best.

Another way to learn hypnosis is to read up on the subject. There are many books on the subject and they should help you at least learn the basics of hypnosis. They won’t give you the benefit of hearing from an actual hypnotist, in person that is, and this can make the difference between the right and wrong technique.

You could, of course, ask a local hypnotist to help you learn hypnosis. Ask them if they recommend any tips or tricks. They hypnotist will undoubtedly tell you to be careful, as hypnotists have a lot of power over their subjects. They will probably ask what you intend to use hypnosis for and who you plan to use it on. If you can’t come up with a good answer, or an answer they approve of, many accredited hypnotists won’t help you learn hypnosis, as you may give them a bad name, especially if you live in a small town.

The best way to learn hypnosis is to educate yourself as much as possible on the subject. Only then can you effectively put someone in a relaxed state to help them with whatever they need help with. If you’re going to learn hypnosis, just make sure that you use the new power you have responsibly as the subconscious mind is nothing to tinker with, especially for your own amusement.

Hypnosis Therapy

Filed Under (Hypnosis, Hypnotism General, Hypnotism Transformations, Hypnotist, Neuro Linguistic Programming, Subconscious Mind) by Dane on 15-03-2007

Since a vast majority believe that hypnosis is simply a person acting on suggestions, they are not fully comfortable with hypnosis therapy in relief of many mental and physical ailments. Moving past the notion that a person under hypnosis is prone to perform illegal or immoral acts, as directed, you may begin to see how hypnosis therapy may work for some people.

Neuro Linguistic Programming is the newest term to describe subliminal suggestion and is being bantered about during conversations on hypnosis therapy in achieving successful placement of suggestions into someone’s subconscious minds. The term almost is making the insinuation that the technique is able to actually program someone’s mind into thinking or behaving in a certain way.

With the understanding of how hypnosis therapy actually works on a person’s mind, many might see how this conclusion can be erroneously drawn. The subconscious mind is more capable of accepting thoughts and suggestions, which may rebut a reality that the conscious mind can refute based on known factors. With its power to apply critical thinking the conscious mind will overpower suggestions running contrary to its known realism.

Suggestions Become New Reality

Now Hypnosis therapy edges beyond the conscious mind into the realm of new thoughts without the mind’s ability to argue against the new thoughts and the hypnotist can plant new suggestions into the subconscious to replace the known reality with a new one. This will not necessarily make it possible for a person to be convinced to do things they would not normally do, but it does open the door to the suggestion.

People who undergo hypnosis therapy to Lose Weight, for example, may have had the suggestion planted that limits them to a certain amount of food at each meal, or that sugar is not good for them and that they do not like it. When they sit down to eat, once they have reached the programmed limit, they are no longer hungry or if sugar is offered, they will turn it down, as their mind believes they do not want it.

Several sources are offering the option of self hypnosis sessions, typically for about $20.00, which can provide numerous hypnosis therapy sessions, which are claimed to be effective in the privacy of your own home. Before participating in a self hypnosis session, however it is recommended you fully understand the basics of hypnotism and what means may be available to bring you out of your self-induced trance if needed.

Ericksonian Hypnosis

Filed Under (Hypnosis, Hypnotism General, Self Hypnosis, Subconscious Mind) by Dane on 15-03-2007

Authoritative commands are usually associated with hypnosis with the subjects being told they are going to sleep and that they will perform certain acts. The voice seems to be commanding and generally appear to work on many people. There are some, however who do not respond to command hypnosis and Ericksonian hypnosis may be needed.

Dr. Milton Erickson developed the Ericksonian hypnosis technique for positive suggestion during hypnosis as opposed to the typical command suggestion, claiming it enabled his patients to conceptualize the task and to alter behavior during fewer sessions. He was also a believer in self-hypnosis based on his own experiences as a child suffering with polio.

During hypnosis a person is in a trance-like state in which the subconscious mind is open to receiving suggestions, as well as open to releasing information of which the conscious mind may not be aware. It is during this state of mind the Ericksonian hypnosis method becomes more clear, especially in establishing future behaviors.

During typical command hypnosis, the subject is given what amounts to commands to perform a specific task or to think in a certain way. Typically, a command is more of a negative suggestion and a person’s mind first has to contemplate the negative before it can accept a positive change, a scenario not involved in Ericksonian hypnosis.

Powers Of Positive Suggestion

An example often cited is telling a young child not to spill his full glass of milk while walking, usually ends with the child looking at his glass and spilling the milk, at which time he is typically scolded for spilling. The Ericksonian hypnosis method utilizes positive suggestions such as telling the child they are doing good, just a little further and typically the milk arrived safely in the glass.

At the end of the journey they are lauded for their success and if an accident does occur, they are offered sympathy such as telling them that maybe the glass was too full. By offering positive re-enforcement, Ericksonian hypnosis makes revisiting the session by the subconscious mind a more pleasant journey and more willingly taken one.

Another method invoked in Ericksonian hypnosis is to provide subjects with what her termed a double bind, or two negative options and allowing the subject to then choose the one of least resistance. He typically found this helpful when the subject was displaying mild to moderate resistance to entering a hypnotic trance.

Anxiety And Hypnosis

Filed Under (Hypnosis, Hypnotism General, Hypnotism Transformations, Subconscious Mind) by Dane on 13-03-2007

Since hypnosis is a method of achieving total relaxation and allowing others access to your subconscious thoughts, it would seem that anxiety and hypnosis would go well together with hypnosis being a natural help for anxiety. And while hypnosis can be used as therapy for anxiety, it can also be hindered by it as well.

Studies have shown that about 30 percent of the population can easily be placed into what is usually termed a hypnotic trance and another 20 percent will be extremely difficult to persuade. The remainder of the population can go either way, mostly depending on their mood at the moment and their level of anxiety and hypnosis may be easy.

Anxiety, however at the thought of giving up control of their mind to another person, may prevent hypnosis from being successful and the thought of someone else having control over the mind and what they may do while under hypnosis, brings on additional anxiety and hypnosis may not be possible.

Stress Depends On Your Definition

You control the definition of stress as it pertains to your life and situational anxiety and hypnosis can go together like the proverbial hand and glove. In any given situation such as asking for a raise, going to traffic court or prepping for surgery a certain degree of stress is involved, which will invoke anxiety to a level equal to the level of stress. You can move past this anxiety and hypnosis can help, by allowing your subconscious mind to accept a new definition of stress for that given circumstance.

Hypnotism is not about altering circumstances, but about altering how your mind perceives and understands the circumstances. How well you can accept what is going on around you and how well your mind adapts to this new knowledge will determine how your anxiety is transformed into calm feelings.

There was a phrase that said stress was mind over matter, and when looking at anxiety and hypnosis aids for stress, it really is mind over matter. If you can get the negative thoughts out of your mind, the positive message will help make it so the outcome does not matter.

Experts agree that stress is a state of mind, depending on how your mind deals with the current circumstance and its possible outcomes. By combining your anxiety and hypnosis techniques you can alter how your mind perceives the potential outcomes and can more positively deal with the situation.
