Self Hypnosis: What is it used for?
Filed Under (Self Hypnosis) by Dane on 16-06-2008
Self hypnosis is becoming more and more popular every day. People are learning how to hypnotize themselves, for many different reasons. However, it can also be very difficult to hypnotize yourself. Studying the art of hypnotherapy and learning the benefits, and things to be aware of can better help you in making the decision of whether or not try to hypnotize yourself. Some people often undergo hypnosis in order to stop bad habits. Others may want to be hypnotized so that they can remember something or another that they may have blocked from their memory. Everyone has a different reason for wanting to be hypnotized.
Hypnotizing Yourself
Self hypnosis can be tricky if you do not know what you are doing. When you proceed to hypnotize yourself, you will find that you almost have to be in the state of falling asleep. But yet, you are not asleep. Many that are practicing to hypnotize themselves will practice getting to this state and recognizing it before they actually try hypnosis on themselves. Once you are in that state, and you recognize it you can actually successfully perform hypnotherapy on yourself.
Self Hypnotizing to Stop Bad Habits
Self Hypnosis is used the most by those that are interested in losing weight, stopping smoking, or even something as simple as to assist in stopping the habit of biting your nails. Many find that they can relax better when they are alone and hypnotizing themselves, rather than going to a stranger, or a hypnotist that they do not know for these purposes.
Self Hypnotizing Using CD’s
The CD method of self hypnosis is also a very popular one. You can use this one on yourself in the privacy of your own home. Many senior hypnotists will suggest that you play their CD while you are going to sleep. The CD will actually walk you through the hypnosis stages, and you will be very susceptible to it while you are in that sleepy, trance like state.
There are so many uses for self hypnosis that it would be impossible to try to count them all. In this article, we have covered the most popular uses. However, you can hypnotize yourself for just about anything. If you are truly interested in hypnotizing yourself, you should read up on it thoroughly and know just what you are doing before you begin.

My name is Georiga and I am 12. I started my interest in Hypnotism when I was 10, and from then on, studied it. I have sucsessfully put my friends in a Light Trance, by a Relaxation Method. I like to use my Physcic powers for daily use. Its very interesting, Hypnotism. I love to meditate myself, and sertain books help me learn how to put myself in Light Trances. Hypnotism helps me in life…I want to be an expert so in my Later Life, I will be able to help people, and help myself. I would also like to Hypnotise the Librarian to let me rent out many more Physcic books…Hahaa. See You Later.
Thanks,
Georgia
my name is sikander, i m 19, i want to know that what is the difference between HYPNOTISM and TELEPATHY are both same or ?
Hi Sikander, thanks for your question.
Hypnotism and Telepathy are both quite different.
Hypnotism is being able to alter a persons brain so that you can make suggestions, help them end addiction, bring back memories, and so on.
Telepathy is being able to read the thoughts of other people which is not possible as far as my studies have shown. It is possible to read body language, but not actual thoughts.
I hope this has helped
Thanx
